I became a father.
Joy. Wonder. And a quiet fear.
What kind of world will my son grow up in? What kind of education will shape his mind?
Then the world
shut down.
COVID hit. Schools closed.
Life slowed down.
I was co-founder of a growing insurtech startup. We went remote. And for the first time in years, I had time—
And I started noticing…

My niece feared math—but no one seemed concerned, as long as she scored well.

Kids were studying to pass, not to understand.

Even engineering grads I interviewed lacked basic concepts.
Bright students. Broken system.
Was this what awaited my son too?
So I turned my worry
into a mission.
Coming from a background in actuarial science and having built a 160-people tech startup—I knew how to dive deep. I started researching how learning really works.
That’s when I discovered Learning Science.Cognitive research.
Nuroscience. Memory, attention, and comprehension It was like opening a new door.
I read 100s of
research papers
Absorbed methods backed by science. Distilled the best. Tested them—with my niece, with my co-founder’s kids.
The results?
These weren’t minor tweaks.
These were Fosbury Flops—small changes that flipped everything.
So in 2022, I took
the leap.
I exited my company and started building Tailwnd.
A platform designed to bring real, lasting learning to every child.
Rooted in science. Built with love.
Tested with rigor.
In September 2024,
we launched our
first version.
Tailwnd is now in schools, showing early traction, and gaining support from educators who believe what we believe:
